You all have no idea how excited I am to have this part of the project all wrapped up. This week Bob finished up getting the deck all stained! I am absolutely thrilled with the results! The color is dark and dramatic just as I had hoped! Now all of my flowers and accessories will really pop! I used Bob Uhrlaub of Mighty Fine Pressure Wash for my deck refinish. He was very quick and did a wonderful job!
I don’t have a huge update for you all today. Mostly just the new stain. I also picked up a few plants for the space. There is DEFINITELY a lot more work to be done in this final week. Will she pull it off in time?! That’s the big question floating around my head right about now. …yea I refer to myself in the third person in my head sometimes. Totally normal.
For my deck stain, I chose Behr. The flooring is Coffee in semi-transparent. The railing is Slate in solid stain. Originally, I was thinking there was going to be more contrast between the too colors. The flooring boards will fade a little with time. However, I actually love how dark the whole deck turned out. I love the colors with my house. I’m not sure the exact color of the house paint. It was already done before I moved in. Eventually (hopefully later this year) I plan on painting my fence the same slate solid stain as the railing. Time and budget just weren’t in line for it this go round.
I picked up 2 Amethyst Falls Wisteria plants to go on 2 corners of the taller deck area. I can’t wait for these babies to wind their vines up the deck! (pictured above)
I also picked up this vibrant blue and purple delphinium. (pictured above) I think this week I am going to run up to Heartland Nursery and grab a 2nd one to go on the other side of the steps.
And of course I couldn’t resist a couple of these HUGE Boston Ferns. They are always a favorite of mine. Their size and bright green leaves make quite a statement! The ferns and concrete tall pot came from Home Depot.
Glad you all could stop by and check in! Be sure to check out the other participants as well! In case you need to catch up on the previous posts, they are linked below as well!
